Bottega Louie – DTLA
Chicken Carcioffi – Pan sautéed chicken with artichoke hearts,
capers, roasted garlic, garden herbs & white wine. Overall this was a good dish for artichoke and bitter tasting vegetable lovers. My foodie partner in crime considered the dish to be orgasmic at the least. Although totally appreciative of the proper preparation of this particular dish, I decided that it wasn’t totally for me. I like artichokes but don’t love them the way I thought. I do realize now that my love affair with artichokes may have been slightly exaggerated up to this point. I like capers but can’t completely embrace the grandaddy version of them which the server referred to as caper berries. They’re fairly overpowering. Sauce was good and light like any other white wine sauce would be. Overall, although well prepared it simply wasn’t for me. If you like a ton of artichokes, capers on steroids and chicken with barely there sauce, I guarantee you’ll enjoy.
